Apple in China iPad name dispute

Proview, the Chinese based electronics firm, has asked customs officials to stop shipments of Apple’s iPads from leaving the country and from entering it. If the company is successful this will be a major problem for Apple as China is the main manufacturing location for all of their products.  The recent threat is the result of a long running feud between Proview and Apple over who had the name ‘iPad’ first. Global games market to be worth $74bn in 2011

The Gartner research firm predicts that game titles are going to cost about another 10% more this year compared to 2010, and that by the time 2015 rolls around spending will reach up to $100bn. In fact, it seems that not only serious gamers are spending a great deal on games, as everyone is starting to appreciate the relaxing art of gaming with sales of games expected to add up to about $74bn by the end of 2011 which will be about a 10% increase when compared to the $67bn of 2010.

Dell executive predicts iPads failure

Andy Lark, the head of enterprise marketing for Dell stated this week that while the company is happy that Apple introduced the public to the tablet computer, they are pretty confident that Apple will fail at maintaining the market monopoly for very long due to the fact that the iPad2 will not attract any enterprise customers.

Some of the reasons that Lark gave for the so-called impending doom of the iPad2 is the fact that it is too expensive along with the fact that it does not meet the needs of most business users.  However, he added that the company is still overjoyed with the fact that Apple opened up the tablet market for other computer companies but in the long run expects that affordability will edge Apple out of the market.
