Chinese have little choice than to pursue sustainable development

Despite the fact that China is a low income country still working on development, special representative for the country Zhenhua Xie has stated that the large country is working on combating climate change with sustainable development.
China is very focused on climate change taking steps in 2007 to establish the NLGCC (National Leading Group on Climate Change). Also during 2007 China took steps to create a national climate change programme that would help lower their GDP by at least 20% by the time the year 2010 rolled around. The significance of the efforts does not go without note as they are the first developing country to ever do so.
