Tablet or laptop?

29 Jul

With tablets dominating the news lately it can be hard to know whether or not you should be investing in a new tablet or if you should think about investing in a standard laptop. What you end up choosing will usually depend on what you plan on using the new computing device for. It goes without saying that the tablet will be much smaller, making it easy to carry around with you on a daily basis, which is great if you are on the go on a regular basis, but there are some downsides to this as well.

For instance, if you use your laptop for working purposes you often need to work out of Office and its various templates, and will often have more than one open at a time. In this case, the many open windows can actually start to get distracting and cramped on a small tablet making it easy to see that the laptop would be the better choice. Also, tablets for now have limited space meaning that you are not able to access all your files on the go.

Laptops have the edge in terms of being able to access more files as it is possible to connect to an external hard drive such as those made by western digital which range from 320GB to 2TB.  With this thought in mind, you need to think about whether you want something that is practical for traveling with or something that is practical for heavy duty work given the fact that this will most likely be the deciding factor.
