Sony announces PS3 and PSP price reductions

In a move to make its products more accessible to the public, Sony has moved to reduce the price of it PlayStation 3 down to just £199 which is a large cut from the original £250 price tag that has already been altered on the market. The large gaming giant is also planning to release a reduced version of its popular handheld gaming console with a price that will be set somewhere around £99 straight from the retailer. Since 2006 the PS3 gaming unit has already seen more than 50m in sales, with sales rising a great deal since a cheaper model was introduced in 2009.

Sega open innovation studio in the UK

Sega announced last week that they have opened up a new studio located in Solihull that will be dedicated to work on their gaming projects and a source of innovation for the gaming giant. The first release out of the new studio is supposed to be a Vita title for PlayStation that has not been named yet. The announcement of the new studio comes as a surprise as many publishers are choosing to move their development out of the UK and into Canada where tax breaks make game production much more profitable for the larger game publishers.

Review of Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D

The first thing that you will likely notice when you start playing Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is the fact that there is actually not much to the mini-game, which is unfortunately what most people have been concerned about since Capcom announced that it would be releasing a mini-game that it was choosing to promote like a full length video game. The game simply puts you in some of the Resident Evil locals that you will likely recognise and then offers you the task of killing as many enemies as possible before the time runs out.
