Tablet or laptop?

With tablets dominating the news lately it can be hard to know whether or not you should be investing in a new tablet or if you should think about investing in a standard laptop. What you end up choosing will usually depend on what you plan on using the new computing device for. It goes without saying that the tablet will be much smaller, making it easy to carry around with you on a daily basis, which is great if you are on the go on a regular basis, but there are some downsides to this as well.

For instance, if you use your laptop for working purposes you often need to work out of Office and its various templates, and will often have more than one open at a time. In this case, the many open windows can actually start to get distracting and cramped on a small tablet making it easy to see that the laptop would be the better choice. Also, tablets for now have limited space meaning that you are not able to access all your files on the go.

The tablet makes it clear that with its many business apps, great on board keyboard, and ability to multi-task that it can offer users something that the tablet market has not yet had to offer its users: productivity and efficiency in the face of cool features. In fact, with its quick software and strong punch you may be surprised that you are able to get as much done as you can on the Touch Pad without turning to a PC for aid.

Dell executive predicts iPads failure

Andy Lark, the head of enterprise marketing for Dell stated this week that while the company is happy that Apple introduced the public to the tablet computer, they are pretty confident that Apple will fail at maintaining the market monopoly for very long due to the fact that the iPad2 will not attract any enterprise customers.

Some of the reasons that Lark gave for the so-called impending doom of the iPad2 is the fact that it is too expensive along with the fact that it does not meet the needs of most business users.  However, he added that the company is still overjoyed with the fact that Apple opened up the tablet market for other computer companies but in the long run expects that affordability will edge Apple out of the market.
